Hello guys! Sorry for the late update. Anyway, here is a brand new free cross stitch chart called Scarlet Macaw. It's based on Scarlet Macaw by Petr Kratochvil. Thank you!
The pattern is not very easy as it has lots of colors, 59 to be exact and uses dithering. Dithering results to what people call confetti stitches. I actually edit out as much confetti stitches as I can without compromising the design. This will be a nice project for those who have graduated from cartoon-like cross stitch designs. Also, I know there are those who don't like backstitches and this has none so it will be perfect for them.
Here are the pattern details:
Pattern Code: 023-AL
Stitch Count: 140w x 246h
Estimated Design Size: 14"w x 24.5"h on 14 ct. Aida
Recommended Fabric: 14 ct. Antique White or similar colors. The higher the fabric count, the better the outcome. I did try other fabric colors like black, white and blue but all came out a little off.
Level: Intermediate
But before I post the download link to the pattern, I would like to ask you a question. In fact, I actually want your answers to a question that has been asked by many cross-stitches around the world. Which is better, DMC or Anchor? I have posted two pictures of the pattern side-by-side. One of them uses DMC and the other uses Anchor, I won't tell you which one. Now I want you to tell me which one is better and why.
This is the first of a series of posts. Welcome to Round One of DMC versus Anchor.
Update: The results are in, check it out here. Chart download is also there.
