Free Christmas Cross Stitch Leaflet

DMC is giving away Christmas cross stitch leaflets for free, now I want my dear readers from all over the world (about a hundred countries by now) to be able to get free copies too. But of course postage is not free. So here is how you are going to get these cute leaflets, I'm selling an envelope of size 24 tapestry needles. They're of Pony brand and of very high quality. You usually get them for around USD 3 to 4 USD per pack of 6 so that's around 50 cents per needle. Each envelope contains 25 needles, so that's USD 12.50 per envelope? Of course not. I'm selling it for just USD 2.99 per envelope, free shipping worldwide. That's savings of USD 9.51 plus you also get a free leaflet. If you want a tracking number, it's USD 3.99.

So what would you need 25 needles for? I'm sure every stitcher out there have experienced at least once in their life where they're so eager to stitch only to find out that they cannot find their needle. You probably have spent sometime on all fours looking for that needle somewhere. And it could be very frustrating not being able to find that needle. So 25 needles guarantees you to avoid that hassle. Also, some stitchers use the parking method when stitching complex pieces with lots of confetti stitches. This means that's you will need 1 needle for every color. I'm sure, one envelope wouldn't be enough for some projects.

Anyway, you can choose any of the following leaflets for free.

Free patterns are:
#1 Little Shoes - Not really Christmas related but you can stitch the blue shoes for baby Jesus.
#2 Christmas Decors - 9 small patterns for Christmas decors
#3 Merry Christmas - Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus greeting you a Merry Christmas
#4 Christmas Globe - An "unbreakable" alternative to the real thing.

So pick your first choice leaflet and pick an alternative leaflet just in case we run out of your first choice. We might also try to give you two free leaflets if shipping permits.

DMC vs Anchor Round One Results

Before anything else, I would like to thank my readers for making first DMC vs Anchor post a success. Well, an overwhelming majority of our readers have decided brand x is better. And brand x is actually Anchor Embroidery Thread. Personally, I also prefer the Anchor model as it has more vivid red and blue hues. The shades of blue on the feathers are amazing. So it's now 1-0 in favor of Anchor.

I actually chose this pattern particularly because of the presence of so many vibrant colors. On the next DMC vs Anchor, I'm going to choose a design with more earth and flesh tones. And as promised, I'm going to give away the chart for free. Right click and save on the link after the photo.

Free Cross Stitch Pattern - Scarlet Macaw

Hello guys! Sorry for the late update. Anyway, here is a brand new free cross stitch chart called Scarlet Macaw. It's based on Scarlet Macaw by Petr Kratochvil. Thank you!

The pattern is not very easy as it has lots of colors, 59 to be exact and uses dithering. Dithering results to what people call confetti stitches. I actually edit out as much confetti stitches as I can without compromising the design. This will be a nice project for those who have graduated from cartoon-like cross stitch designs. Also, I know there are those who don't like backstitches and this has none so it will be perfect for them.

Here are the pattern details:
Pattern Code: 023-AL
Stitch Count: 140w x 246h
Estimated Design Size: 14"w x 24.5"h on 14 ct. Aida
Recommended Fabric: 14 ct. Antique White or similar colors. The higher the fabric count, the better the outcome. I did try other fabric colors like black, white and blue but all came out a little off.
Level: Intermediate

But before I post the download link to the pattern, I would like to ask you a question. In fact, I actually want your answers to a question that has been asked by many cross-stitches around the world. Which is better, DMC or Anchor? I have posted two pictures of the pattern side-by-side. One of them uses DMC and the other uses Anchor, I won't tell you which one. Now I want you to tell me which one is better and why.

This is the first of a series of posts. Welcome to Round One of DMC versus Anchor.

Update: The results are in, check it out here. Chart download is also there.

021-MS Forever Together

This is a new free cross stitch pattern. It's a pair of sneakers with the laces forming a heart shape. It's very simple and has just a few colors on black fabric. The use of glow-in-the-dark thread and white metallic thread is suggested. I think this would be a great wedding present, especially if you don't have too much time to stitch. You could just stitch the names of the couple on top of the heart using white thread and then the date below the heart. You could even embellish it with faux wedding rings and put it inside the heart. You could also stitch the names on the front of each shoe instead using black thread. But whatever you choose, I really really suggest the glow-in-the-dark thread.

Now for my Spanish readers:

Hola! Como estan ustedes? Estoy estupendo. Ohala que ustedes estan estupendo tambien. (Is the grammar correct?) Este es una diseno de punto de cruz para una pareja. Pueden hacerlo para regalo a una boda. Este es muy facil y tiene 10 colores solo. Por favor, pueden comentar debajo? Muchas Gracias!

020-QR Code

Hello guys!

Here is my new free pattern. A QR code. Do you want to know what the message is inside the QR code? Then whip out your smartphones with bar code scannner or QR code scanner applications and I'm sure you would LOVE the message.

This pattern would be great to stitch on shirts using waste canvas or DMC's water soluble canvas. You can show everyone that you have a bit of a techie side too! To download the pattern, just right click and save. You can stitch the black areas on a white fabric using black threads or you could stitch the white areas on a black fabric. You could also stitch both black and white areas on colored fabric.

If you have suggestions on other possible messages, then put it on the comments.
